HTC Dream Reviews

Faith hill (Expert Review) - 04/08/2009 10:25:26

As per its name, HTC Dream has proved itself a dream of the expected buyers. Sporting a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, a touch-screen interface and trackball, the response to HTC Dream is chiefly positive but it has a number of hardware and software shortcomings that prevent it from being a complete mobile phone.
Genuinely, HTC Dream is a good combination of oodles of sensational features along with attractive design. The main attraction is Google's Android interface and also keyboard is itself well designed.
HTC Dream integrates 3.2 inches touch sensitive screen complete with slide out QWERTY keyboard and well spaced keys which can be accessed by simply sliding the screen to the side. Trackball works well for navigation and touchscreen displays bright colourful 65k colours display with 320 by 480 screen resolution viewing experience. It is perfectly responsive and quite easy to use but it lacks multi-touch so users can?t touch the screen to zoom in.
HTC Dream is fitted with a powerful enough battery which ensures the users to give several hours of GSM and HSDPA talk time also offers standby time of GSM and HSDPA when fully charged. Google Maps are also presented on the HTC Dream and it uses both the built-in accelerometer and its GPS to form the compass, which allows seeing the street in 360 degrees as you rotate and move the phone.
HTC Dream comprises 3.2 MP camera with auto focus but not having other functions and camera setting. The lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack and A2DP Bluetooth are major omissions, as well as there is no video player available.
Merits: Responsive touch screen, Full QWERTY keyboard, Powerful battery, Google's Android interface, GPS Navigation with Google Maps, 3.2 MP camera
Demerits: No multi touch, lacking 3.5mm headphone jack & A2DP Bluetooth, Heavy weight, omission of video player, No camera settings & Document Editor
